They are currently claiming a child died from THC-8
consumption. The problem with this is the median lethal dose (LD50) for
Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinal is 1270 mg per kilogram.
Delta-8 is the same amount. That
is a LOT of gummies and I assure you WAY more that any child
has ever been exposited to much less ate.
So the actual claim that death by tetrahydrocannabinol toxicity seems
doubtful based on the fact a child would have to have access to a huge amount
of edible THC much less eating that much
too. At 20 mg of THC a gummy (normal dosage) a
newborn 10 lb. child would have to eat 285 gummies which isn't going to be easy
or cheap (who has bag of ~300 THC gummies
laying about the house) which I estimate to be over $450 worth of gummies. For a 10 lb. child newborn who can't eat
gummies. Just saying folks.
