Guns

If guns made you safe then the US would be one of the safest country in the world.  It's not.  For ever 100 individuals there are 120+ guns. 

There is NO data that shows you are safer with guns but the exact opposite.  e.g.

A National Institutes of Health study found that for each time a gun is used for self-defense, there are 11 suicide attempts involving firearms, seven assaults or murders and four gun accidents.

Another National Institutes of Health discovered that owning a gun drastically increases the risk of gun violence in domestic violence cases. They found that a firearm in a home with a history of domestic violence correlates to a 500 percent greater chance that a woman will be killed.

One study published in the American Journal of Public Health found that the odds of an assault victim being shot increased 4.5 times if they carried a gun, and the odds of them being killed increased 4.2 times.

A study published in the Journal of Preventive Medicine found that using guns for self-defense during a robbery doesn’t lower one’s odds of being injured.

And the insanity goes on. Every time there is a crisis folks run out and buy more guns and ammo.  Pandemic run out buy more guns and ammo. 

A gun is like a tool and not the blame albeit its sole purpose is to inflict injury.  People are the blame but it's a lot harder to kill someone with a hammer vs a gun.  And easier still to kill a lot of people with an assault weapon.  So availably is part of the problem with more guns in homes comes more deaths, more accidents and more suicides.  States with higher gun numbers have more suicides for both men and women.   Does anyone need to own an assault weapon.  NO.  Armor piercing ammo. NO.  The best method is controlling who has guns but in America hell MANY states allow everyone to pack without training or a permit.   So being the idiots we are we decide that the more people that carry guns the safer we are...... and as we know guns do not make you safer and more guns sure are not going to make you safer. 

But at least you'll have your guns when it's 120 Degrees outside no water and you're killing folks to survive.

More people die from guns than automobiles.  You have to have a license and pass a test to drive a car.  You can't drive blind but in some states (GA for e.g.) you can carry a gun and be blind.  That makes perfect sense in Bizarro USA.

From 1975 folks and 47 years later.  More guns carried by more people (including the blind) has got to be better!  We're not stupid.....

How many people have to die before America realizes... guns are a problem NOT a solution.
